MLB Team Tiers with a World Series Prediction

MLB Team Tiers with a World Series Prediction By: Carson Hull September is coming, and playoff positions are rounding into shape. There are plenty of teams with October ambitions, but those ambitions vary depending on the team. In this article, I’ve included every team that could potentially make a run at the World Series. Each team will be in three tiers depending on how confident I feel in that team potentially making and winning a championship.  Tier 1: The “Ya, that checks out” tier: Astros, Dodgers, Braves, Mets, and Yankees These are the cream of the crop. Each of these teams I can confidently say I would not be surprised if they won the 2022 World Series. The Houston Astros might be the most complete team in this tier. They have an elite bullpen, ace(Verlander), starting staff, alpha hitter(Yordan) and lineup. This team can beat you in so many ways. Same with the Mets. They have power coming from Alonso, Lindor, Vogelbach and Marte, plus guys that can run up the pitch co

Grading NBA Offseason Moves So Far

Grading NBA Offseason Moves So Far From The Jazz Trading Gobert To Brunson Going To The Big Apple, What Offseason Moves Were Great and What Ones Were Questionable by Liam Willerup     Last offseason when I tackled this, I would say I did a good job. I properly rated the Duncan Robinson deal as a D+, as he now as one of the most unmovable contracts in the NBA. I was also pretty accurate with the Bulls getting Ball and DeRozan, saying I'd give them a ceiling as a 5th seed as they ended up as the 6th seed at the end of the season. However, this offseason already looks a lot different, especially with superstars Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant requesting out of Brooklyn. With still many more moves to go, let's dive into the deals that have gone on so far in the league. Minnesota Strikes Big on Jazz Center Rudy Gobert In Exchange For Multiple Picks Trade for Jazz: A+ Trade for Timberwolves: C+     Getting four first rounders for a player that just turned 30 and doesn't have much

2022 NBA Finals Preview: Matchup and Legacy Talk

2022 NBA Finals Preview: Matchup and Legacy Talk By: Carson Hull After a somewhat lackluster postseason with many blowouts, the NBA Finals presents us basketball fans with what hopefully will, and should be, an amazing matchup between the Boston Celtics and the Golden State Warriors. Despite clear advantages between the two teams, they both match up very well with one another. The Celtics are the only team in the Steve Kerr era to have a winning record against them. Here are the advantages and disadvantages each team has in this matchup, ending with legacy talk and what a championship would mean for each team. The Warriors offense is a different style, and beast, than anything the Celtics have had to face leading up to the Finals. The Nets, Bucks, and Heat rely much more on isolation than the Warriors do. With the Celtics coming off of two extremely physical seven game series with not much time to rest in the meantime, the physical strain of constantly having to be on point in rota

Veteran Leaders Green, Iguodala Help Golden State Capture a 3-0 Lead After A Tough Game In Denver

Veteran Leaders Green, Iguodala Help Golden State Capture a 3-0 Lead After A Tough Game In Denver By Liam Willerup It was well aware that Nikola Jokic wasn’t going to be quiet this whole series. After all, he’s in line to become a back-to-back MVP after his historic statistical season. However, Golden State was able to close out the game and set themselves up for a chance to win the series on Sunday in Denver. Klay, Poole and Curry all scored 26+ points in the 118-113 win, but the two players who made the biggest impact in my eyes throughout the fourth quarter were veterans Andre Iguodala and Draymond Green. Green, one of the league’s premier defensive players and an elite playmaker, was able to stay composed late in the fourth with five fouls and make the game-ending steal on Jokic. Green had the highest plus/minus out of the Golden State starting unit Thursday night, but his impact can not be expressed through simple box score numbers. In addition, Andre Iguodala played impactful m

San Francisco All-Pro Deebo Samuel Requests a Trade Amid Contract Negotiations

San Francisco All-Pro Deebo Samuel Requests a Trade Amid Contract Negotiations By Liam Willerup | April 20th, 2022 This afternoon, Jeff Darlington of ESPN broke to Twitter that San Francisco 49ers All-Pro “swiss-army knife” receiver Deebo Samuel has requested a trade out of the Bay. This news comes amidst contract negotiations, as it was believed that Deebo Samuel was not receiving the contract he was desiring. The third-year wide receiver from the South Carolina Gamecocks wrapped up a historic season for the 49ers, going for over 1,750 scrimmage yards and scoring 14 total scrimmage touchdowns while lining up both out wide and in the backfield. Samuel proved himself as the league’s most versatile and effective weapon, leading all receivers with 18.2 yards per reception and rushing for 6.2 yards per carry. OTAs and training camps are coming up and it seems like fans shouldn’t expect to see Deebo out there for the Niners. However, the NFL Draft next Thursday provides the 49ers with a u

Favorite First Half Storylines and All-NBA Teams

Favorite Storylines and All-NBA Teams from the First Half of the 2021-2022 NBA Season by Carson Hull The Memphis Grizzlies Evolving Into Legitimate Threats      I love seeing players fulfill their potential, and that is exactly what we are seeing from 3rd year superstar Ja Morant. To make this jump, Ja improved his 3 point percentage from the low to mid 30s(35.6%). This forces defenders to close out on him just a little bit more, but for such an explosive athlete like Morant who is unstoppable going downhill, that is all it takes. He has one of the best floaters, verticals, and layup packages in the league making him dangerous around the basket. He is this team’s spark. Then you go down the line. Grayson Allen playing for Milwaukee has allowed Desmond Bane to become the perfect backcourt partner for Ja. From year one to two, he has doubled his points per game from 9 to 17 in just 7 extra minutes per game. Despite being built like an All-Pro Linebacker, he is undoubtedly one of the best
